Probability plays a part in everything we do.

There’s no escaping the role of chance in our lives. It’s a universal phenomenon that affects us all in different ways depending on the actions we take…

But there’s a difference between acknowledging this reality, and succumbing to it.

All too often, acceptance that some things are out of our hands puts us in a disempowering spiral downwards.

Rather than clearly seeing where the bounds of our control start and end, we magnify.

We think that because things are ultimately out of our hands, there’s nothing we can do influence our experience.

This is a mistake.

While we might lack definitive authority to say how our journey will unfold, we can’t ignore our ability to tip the odds in our favour.

Some actions are luckier than others.

Taking appropriate risks puts us on a better path than hiding away from challenge.

Facing our fears head-on leaves us more equipped to deal with evolving circumstances than cowardly flight from the things that scare us.

The choice to reflect on our outcomes (and learn what we can from what we’ve gone through) moves us forwards. Abandoning this process leaves us where we are… Or even moves us backwards.

If we wish to be luckier, it starts with being. Behaving in a way that increases our luck – that tips the scales, stacks the deck, loads the dice in our favour.

When we consistently take action to harness probability (rather than suffering from it), we might be surprised what it creates for us.
